A new aquatic center just opened in Ames. It's within biking distance, so we bought a season pass. We have gone several times, but it's been really busy. I hope things slow down as people leave for vacations. We went last evening around 7pm and it was perfect. It was still hot, but not sunburn bright. The crowds were minimal. After dinner might be the best time to go everytime. The pool has a toddler pool, a lazy river, intertube slide and big pool with diving boards and a slide. Our family favorite is the lazy river. Nadia was a little nervous at first, but now loves it! The tube slides are really fast, especially if you ride a double tube with Dad. I have taken my little camera and tried to snap a few photos and not get wet. I am sharing my favorites.
